2020 Football Season FAQ

Pirate Nation,

By now, season ticket holders should have received an email walking you through the steps to either opt-in or opt-out of your tickets for the 2020 football season. We appreciate your assistance in helping us develop a seating manifest and a plan for fans to be in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium this fall.

As a reminder, we ask that you submit this form by Friday, September 11. Our Pirate Club and Athletics Ticket Office staff has received many questions regarding the upcoming season, as well as other topics and I hope that the following FAQ list helps to answer any questions and concerns.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: If Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium has a limited capacity, who will be allowed in?
A: Due to local and state guidelines, we have restrictions on capacity and fan attendance at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. These capacity limits will be determined on a game-by-game basis. The Pirates' season opener against UCF on September 26 will be closed to the public, but we remain hopeful for limited capacity at our next home game on October 17 against Navy. If local and state guidance allows for limited capacity, seats will be distributed based on priority in the Pirate Club.

Q: How will my capital campaign commitment for premium seating be handled for impacted games?
A: Just like your season tickets, we will be able to credit your commitment over to next year for all games affected due to capacity limits. If you opt-out, then you will be able to roll the entire donation over to next year.

Q: What is the best way for me to reach the Athletics Ticket Office or Pirate Club staff if I have questions or need assistance?
A: Our Pirate Club staff is available by email at ecupirateclub@ecu.edu or by phone at 252-737-4540. You can also reach out to a representative and their contact information is available on our website at www.ecupirateclub.com. Our ticket office staff is available by phone at 252-737-4500 or by email at athletictickets@ecu.edu.

Q: Will I be able to purchase single game tickets this year?
A: Our primary focus will be ensuring that our season ticket holders and students are able to attend games this year. As of now, we do not anticipate single game tickets going on sale.

Q: How will tickets be distributed for the season and when will I receive my package?
A: We will be implementing a mobile ticket approach with more information to follow as we finalize the details.

Q: When will I receive my Pirate Club membership card?
A: Usually membership cards go out with season tickets, but we will be sending them out soon to Pirate Club members and you should receive them by the end of the month.

Q: Am I able to donate part of my tickets and how do I go about doing so?
A: Yes, you can do partial donations. Please contact one of our ticket office representatives from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday - Friday in order to do so. Our ticket office staff is available by phone at 252-737-4500 or by email at athletictickets@ecu.edu.

Q: Will I keep my same seats and parking if I decide to opt-out by the September 11 deadline?
A: You will not lose your seat rights and we will welcome you back with open arms in 2021.

Q: I donated prior to the June 10 deadline and have donated my tickets; when can I expect to receive the bonus points offered?
A: We will be mass-uploading bonus points at the end of the calendar year after we account for all the fulfilled annual fund pledges and ticket donations as a result of impacted games. We appreciate your patience with us as it takes time to upload these manually in everyone's account.

Q: Will there be Minges and Harvey Hall hospitality this season? Access to the Carl and Connie Rogers Pirate Club Level?
A: With the limitation of indoor and outdoor mass gathering restrictions, we do not anticipate being able to offer these benefits for our donors at the present time. These restrictions will be determined on a game-by-game basis. Please contact a Pirate Club staff member if you have any questions.

Q: What are my options in case I opt-in, but fans are unable to attend games due to restrictions?
A: You have the following 3 options:
  • Receive a full refund for all impacted games.
  • Receive credit to your account for 2021 football season tickets.
  • Ticket credit amounts can be donated to the Pirate Club for student-athlete scholarships and receive bonus priority points. This would not be applied towards your 2020 Pirate Club Annual Scholarship Fund commitment. However, you will receive triple (3x) the priority points you would normally receive for making this donation. Example - 2 tickets totaling $600 would equal 12 points if donated. By tripling the priority points, you would receive 6 points for every $100 donated, resulting in 36 total points.
