Drew Moeller rejoined the East Carolina University and Pirate Club staff in March of 2021 as assistant athletics director for development after a two-year stay at Pittsburgh and an earlier five-year tenure in Greenville.
Â
As Pitt's assistant athletics director for annual giving, a position he accepted in 2019, Moeller was responsible for coordinating all annual giving activities and developing an annual strategy to drive philanthropic donations for the Panther Club. In addition to leading athletics planning for the school's annual Pitt Day of Giving that resulted in a 140 percent increase in donor participation, he most recently launched a new Student-Athlete Success Fund that ultimately produced a 145 percent rise in unrestricted funds.
Â
Moeller initially joined the Pirate Club as assistant director of development in 2013 before earning a promotion to associate director status two years later. While managing a portfolio of over 350 donors in 12 regional chapters, he also assisted with season ticket and parking benefit fulfillment through the Paciolan platform and was responsible for many elements of the members’ game day hospitality services.
Â
In all, the Pirate Club raised a record-breaking $32 million in 2016 and saw a 15 percent increase in annual giving during his first tenure at ECU.
Â
Moeller spent the 2012-13 year as an intern with the Wolfpack Club at North Carolina State University. He helped with the organization's annual fund and major gifts program, while also contributing efforts in the sale and transfer of lifetime seating rights to club members.
Â
A 2011 graduate of Appalachian State University, Moeller earned a bachelor's degree in advertising before following with a M.B.A. (and sport management certification) from East Carolina in 2020. He is also a member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
